SODOM is a 30-minute solo performance that combines theatre, dance, fashion, film, music, text and visual design. It questions the prejudices against homosexual people in religious stories. The performance exposes stereotypes and their origins in order to bring about a social rethink. It explores and questions gender norms through the reinterpretation and reuse of Christian symbols. SODOM challenges beliefs that are still deeply rooted in our society.

»In such a religious city like Hildesheim, this play is especially important. The very personal and shocking performance moved us deeply. With SODOM, Arno Verbruggen brings a topical issue to the surface. Queerness otherwise made invisible by the church thus becomes visible. This clear rejection of pigeonholing convinced us.«
Content Notes:
SODOM creates a dark and primal atmosphere. The performance includes nudity, darkness, stroboscopic effects, as well as loud music and sounds. The audience is invited to follow the performance intermittently via an Instagram livestream.
