The transeuropa festival takes place in Hildesheim (Germany) every three years. Its eleventh edition runs from 11th – 15th of September 2024. The festival is organised by the association transeuropa e.V.

We, the current head team, are already looking forward to it!
Our work begins on 31.01.2024. Since then, we have occupied a space in the city centre of Hildesheim. We call this space platzhalter. It is pronounced: plaatshaalter. Translated from German, this means placeholder. There will be regularly hosted events there.

There is a new motto for every transeuropa festival. The motto for transeuropa 2024 is Making Space.

We, the festival head team, want to make space. For whom? For those of you who are visiting the festival and the platzhalter, for those of you who want to help shape the festival. We want to come together and learn from each other.

We invite young artists from all over Europe to take part in the festival. They show their art over five days. This can be a theatre play, dance or another artistic action.

Who decides which artists are invited? There is a jury for this. Anyone living in Hildesheim and the surrounding area can be part of the jury. A jury is a group of people who decide on something together. They are of different ages and have different experiences with art. This allows people, who would otherwise not be involved, to take part in the decision-making process.
