In TIKKÉ TIKKÉ, dancer Mona Farivar explores the feeling of being torn between two languages and worlds: Iran and Germany, her country of birth. She deals with a negative self-image that is reinforced by German society. By creating her own platform and dealing with her history and feelings, Mona Farivar develops her own safe space. She combines hip-hop and traditional Persian dances to create her own language. This language utilises the separation between the two worlds. She creates new forces in empty spaces. In her work, she combines elements of her own story, videos and intense audio tracks.

»Mona Farivar immediately won us over with her piece. We particularly liked her dance, which is characterised by extreme dynamism. We felt the emotions of her personal story very strongly. A story that, in our eyes, is highly topical today.«
Content Notes:
TIKKÉ TIKKÉ takes the audience into the depth and darkness of the biographical story presented. The performance works with complete darkness, silence and loud music sequences. The audience is addressed directly with spoken language (Persian, German, English).
Triggers: darkness, loud
Choreography, dramaturgy and music: Mona Farivar
