We want to start the festival days together with you! We invite you to the Literaturhaus St. Jakobi. Start your day with a bowl of porridge or rice pudding while enjoying a reading, yoga or a talk. Admission and breakfast are free. Registration is kindly requested.
Thursday morning marks the start of the first full day of transeuropa festival. In a festival talk, members of the head team will present the principles of this year's edition and report on their experience from their work. Together with guests and artists, the festival team would like to get in the mood for the upcoming days. Maybe you'll find a new friend for a joint festival visit?
Friday morning combines yoga with a writing workshop. The body is an essential part of writing. Freelance author and yoga teacher Jelena Kern will guide through a 30-minute yoga session with simple exercises. In small, easy writing exercises, we maintain this concentration and take mindfulness into the day. Afterwards, we will reflect together.
On Saturday morning, young authors from the Hildesheim group Literaqueer will present their own texts. The one-hour reading includes a variety of queer perspectives from literature. The reading takes place in connection to the other queer performances at the transeuropa festival. The texts highlight the tensions in which queer people live in Europe. On this day there will be german sign language interpreters on site.
On Sunday morning, Literaturhaus St. Jakobi celebrates the opening of its season. The exhibition “Und unsere Herzen werden leichter, je näher unsere Köpfe dem Himmel kommen” by the student initiative Kunstraum 53 will also open in the foyer. In conversation with those involved, there will be insights into the creative process and a guided tour. This will be followed by a presentation of the new stage design of Literaturhaus and a preview of the season's program.
Detailed information on all four days can be found on the website of the Literaturhaus St. Jakobi.
