As part of this year's transeuropa festival<\/em>, a citizens' jury was used in the selection process for the first time. <\/span><\/p>

This form of festival curation is becoming increasingly popular and is constantly being further developed, especially in the cultural context, with the idea of participation and democratization of decision-making processes far removed from elitist jury appointments. <\/span><\/p>

In addition to greater representation of urban society, it enables different perspectives on art to be perceived. Decisions that were otherwise often made in a small circle by a few people, most of whom have professional expertise, should be negotiated in a larger, more diverse body. However, this approach also has its hurdles and raises many questions: Who do you invite and how? How willing are all those involved to talk? How can urban society be represented as realistically as possible and who is always excluded? C\u00e9line Bartholomaeus<\/strong><\/span> (she\/her) will lead the workshop. She has worked for many years as a juror for theatre festivals and festival curator for SPURENSUCHE<\/em>. The content of her artistic and theoretical work focuses on the critique of racism, intersectionality and empowerment for BIPOC.<\/p>

Bogl\u00e1rka Pap<\/strong><\/span> (she\/her) is a director, theatre educator and cultural manager. She has been working in the greater Stuttgart area for over twenty years, realising a wide range of projects with different target groups together with citizens' juries. These include the Intercultural Ensemble<\/em> of the Stuttgart Forum of Cultures<\/em> and the Goldener Schmetterling<\/em> collective, which she co-founded. As an expert in participatory cultural projects, she aims to shape art and culture at eye level with citizens<\/p>

Nadine M\u00fcller<\/strong><\/span> and Andrej Stickelmayer<\/span><\/strong> are both part of the Citizens' Jury<\/em><\/span><\/a> for transeuropa 2024 - making space<\/em>. They actively participated in the selection process for the performances over two months.<\/p>

Sascha Kullak<\/strong><\/span> has been involved in realising the socio-cultural neighbourhood centre B-Side<\/em><\/span><\/a> in M\u00fcnster in various roles since 2015. Over the past six years, he has been particularly involved in the Quartier<\/em>. The Hansaforum<\/em><\/span><\/a> project, funded by the federal government, sought to actively involve citizens in the design of their neighbourhood. C\u00e9line Bartholomaeus<\/strong><\/span> (she\/her) will lead the workshop. She has worked for many years as a juror for theatre festivals and festival curator for SPURENSUCHE<\/em>. The content of her artistic and theoretical work focuses on the critique of racism, intersectionality and empowerment for BIPOC.<\/p>

Bogl\u00e1rka Pap<\/strong><\/span> (she\/her) is a director, theatre educator and cultural manager. She has been working in the greater Stuttgart area for over twenty years, realising a wide range of projects with different target groups together with citizens' juries. These include the Intercultural Ensemble<\/em> of the Stuttgart Forum of Cultures<\/em> and the Goldener Schmetterling<\/em> collective, which she co-founded. As an expert in participatory cultural projects, she aims to shape art and culture at eye level with citizens<\/p>

Nadine M\u00fcller<\/strong><\/span> and Andrej Stickelmayer<\/span><\/strong> are both part of the Citizens' Jury<\/em><\/span><\/a> for transeuropa 2024 - making space<\/em>. They actively participated in the selection process for the performances over two months.<\/p>

Sascha Kullak<\/strong><\/span> has been involved in realising the socio-cultural neighbourhood centre B-Side<\/em><\/span><\/a> in M\u00fcnster in various roles since 2015. Over the past six years, he has been particularly involved in the Quartier<\/em>. The Hansaforum<\/em><\/span><\/a> project, funded by the federal government, sought to actively involve citizens in the design of their neighbourhood.
